By adding sugar, distilled vinegar, our mix and a few veggies, you are on your way to being a pickling genius!
Directions for using Bread and Butter Pickling Mix: Slice 6 large cucumbers and 1 cup onion OR any of the following vegetables. squash, zucchini, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots. PACK tightly into a 1 gallon airtight container OR 4 - 1 quart containers. Pour the following over the contents of each jar: 3 cups Distilled White Vinegar, 3 cups sugar and 1 or more cups of water. If more liquid needs to be added, just top each container off with additional water.
Refrigerate for 48 hours and they are READY! ENJOY!
The hot water bath method may also be used for canning to prolong the life of the contents.
