One of my dearest friends gave me a little sign that states, "Our friendship isn't a big thing, its a million little things.
I see the sign every morning when I sit down with the Lord, it is on my desk facing the chair I sit in. Over the last several months the Lord has been calling me to discover a true friendship with Him. This sign is just now in this moment resonating with me on another level.
You see, I have been seeking the Lord's will in my life. I have felt an anticipation of some big new thing He was preparing me for. I have begged and pleaded to hear what this big thing was. Perhaps, weary from the current situation I am in, I have been dreaming and longing for a big new thing.
All the while the Lord has been speaking and working. He is saying, "keep at it, where you are. Keep sowing the seeds as you do not know which will take root and grow. Be content in ME right where you are. Focus on the abundance I provide for you and not what you see as lack. Perhaps it is not a big thing but a million little things I have called you to do."
The Lord is speaking this little sign to me. Even though I do believe that our friendship is a BIG thing, the biggest thing actually, it is compiled of a million little things.Â
A million little lessons, little nudges, little kisses, little reminders and little moments that swirl together to wrap me in His BIG love for me.
Let this be encouragement to all of you who feel stuck in the waiting, to look for the million little things. Be thankful for the million little things. The Lord is speaking to you and showing you His love in a million little things. He is in the whisper. He is calling you to abide in Him, and be content in Him. Keep taking steps, He will direct your path. He is your BIGGEST fan and friend. Can't you just hear Him cheering you on, my friend?
Thank you Lord, for the million little things.Â
Right after sharing this blog post, the Lord gave me a song. He is so gracious and kind. I promise friend, He listens and speaks.

Just read this and yes!!! He is in the little things and the big ones. I have just been so reminded lately of how personal our God is! He KNOWS us in such a way that He sends exactly what we need each day. Whether it’s a truth from His Word, or a friend’s sweet encouragement. He is SO loving and I am so grateful that He is in the big, little, and in-between things! Thanks for sharing this!!!
