Truths about me
- I am an only child and have had a difficult time learning how to share
- As an only child I developed a habit of self reliance
- As a business owner my stance has been, know my competition but stay in my own lane
The problem with these truths is that it has caused the platform, that God has blessed our business with, to be self focused. With focus on self the spiritual problem of self sufficiency can grow. This causes isolation, which the enemy loves and uses. Â
Though I have relied on God to provide and prosper our business, I still have a tendency to pick up the burden again and again and carry it on my own. (The Lord is working on breaking this habit.) How could I ever believe that I, alone, could conquer the challenges of small business? Silly girl!
The Lord has recently reminded me to ask Him to carry my burdens, and more than that he has shown me that it is okay to ask others for help carrying my burden. So that in return I may help to carry someone else's burden.
What I'm about to do may seem to cut against the grain of my truths, because that is what God is doing. You see, when you cut against the grain of fabric (on the bias) it allows the fabric to stretch. God is cutting against the grains of my truths to stretch me further than I imagined. And in that, His word and His glory will be stretched further than I could ever take it on my own.Â
I am sharing our business platform with our community of small businesses that need the support right now. By support I don't just mean by choosing to shop with us (which is so necessary and so appreciated) I also mean simply telling the community all about the small businesses that you love and how well they have served you. Spread the word on google reviews, social media platforms, and in daily conversations.Â
I want all my friends in small business to share your page in the comments. If you own a small business or simply want to mention a small business you love, please do it in the comments. Be sure to tag them all and tell us a little bit about them. Our page isn't especially large but I know with the support of everyone it can be stretched to reach more people than any algorithm. For our God has no variables. He is always faithful, unchanging, a constant assurance for those who trust in Him.
Love,
Ally
